Did you know that National Customer Service Week will be celebrated by thousands of companies across the U.S. between October 7th and 11th this year?  This years theme is The Magic of Service ™. Check out the customer service week website to learn more and utilize their resources to help you plan a week to reward your hardworking staff! Within the Veterinary Industry, almost all staff members interact with customers and clients on a daily basis! October 7th – 11th would be a fantastic time for your veterinary hospital to recognize the excellent customer service your teams provides. It is also a great time to remind everyone just how important customer service is.

Why You Should Celebrate Customer Service Week

From the time a client walks in the doors of your hospital, to the time they walk out, they are interacting with a member of your team…whether it is a customer service representative, a veterinarian, a technician, or an assistant. If your team was not providing great customer service, then you would have no clients! Creating an excellent customer experience is the fuel needed to create lasting relationships with clients and bring in new clients. This is why it is so important to acknowledge the hard work your staff puts in each and every day to allow those bonds with clients to flourish.

Celebration Ideas

Whether you decide to celebrate every day between October 7th and 11th, or you choose one day to celebrate, below are some great ideas! Also, be sure to check out some great ideas on csweek.com.

  1. Decorate! Put up some colorful streamers or banners, or fun photos in the lobby or in exam rooms. This will not only remind your staff each day of the importance of the week, but will also let clients know what your hospital is celebrating.
  2. Provide lunch or breakfast for everyone. Who doesn’t love free food?
  3. Have costume day. Or days! This will create great morale throughout the week and create a fun and uplifting atmosphere.
  4. Give gifts to your staff. Whether you would like to provide them with gift cards, t-shirts or candy, your staff will truly appreciate the acknowledgement of their hard work.
  5. Make customer service your topic for that week’s staff meeting. Not only is it important to reward your staff for their excellent customer service skills, but this week can also be used to remind them of the importance of customer service.
