Inventory Consultation

Resources Provided:

  • Microsoft Excel file with the following:
    • A-list calculator (re-order points/amounts)
    • Turnover rate calculator
    • Break-even calculator
    • Monthly budget
    • Re-order tags based off of A-list items
  • PDF of training presentation slides
  • Detailed consultation report within a week of the consult. This will contain all of our findings, suggestions and to-do items.
  • Support following the consult for any questions/guidance regarding inventory management.

Inventory Consult Prep-Work:

We will spend time reviewing, and annotating your sales and usage report prior to our visit.

 

Day 1

*9am-9:30am – Tour of the facility to see where inventory is stored.

9:30am-10am – Access the practice management software (PMS) and spot check inventory codes, to observe how they are set-up. More time is focused on this on Day 2.

10am-1pm – Count current inventory on hand, focusing on A-list items. Information is inputting to the Excel file that will be provided following the consult. This will allow the re-order points/amounts to be calculated.

*1pm-2pm – 1 on 1 inventory training for pertinent team members.

*2pm-3pm – Review Day 1 findings, and high level goals.

 

Day 2 (Times could be earlier based on flight availability)

9am-12pm – Access PMS and review flow and structure of inventory items. Pull reports to show inventory adjustments, and high-level pricing structures.

12pm-2pm – Identify inventory pricing structure opportunities, and code set-up. Review duplicate codes for consolidation, and opportunities to use group codes.

*2pm-3pm – Review Day 2 findings, and summarize suggestions and to-do items. Answer any pending questions, and discuss anticipated impact of implementing the suggestions.

* Indicates schedule times where Inventory Manager would need to be available. Most of these times are flexible, if changes are needed.
